The Long Range Certificate (LRC) is the international radio licence for worldwide maritime communication within GMDSS Sea Areas A1 to A3. It covers VHF, medium‑frequency (MF) and high‑frequency (HF) radio, as well as Inmarsat satellite communication. The LRC is required when yachts are equipped with MF/HF or satellite communication systems.
