Training for the SBF See

The SBF See is the official licence required to operate motorised recreational vessels on German coastal waterways. The training covers all exam‑relevant content — clearly structured, technically precise, and practical.

Exam Content

The course includes all topics required for the theoretical and practical examination:

Navigation: chartwork, bearings, course, drift, position
Seamanship: manoeuvres, behaviour at sea, safety
Maritime law: COLREGs, national regulations, lights & shapes
Weather: basic coastal weather knowledge
Engine basics: essential knowledge for safe operation
Practical manoeuvres: docking, undocking, turning, rescue manoeuvres

Course Structure
